Volunteers are the most important resource that Pillars has. The ability of people to work willingly together for the betterment of our community and themselves is a valuable resource.
The image of our regular volunteer has changed over time. Gone is the stereotype of the middle-aged housewife with time on her hands. Now volunteers come from all walks of life: they are teenagers helping in all aspects of Pillars, an executive sharing management and legal skills, a retiree sharing their professional skills and working adults who want to give make a difference.
Our volunteers find the donation of their time and energy a meaningful experience for themselves as well as for Pillars. A true win/win situation.
