A spontaneous gesture resulted in a donation of $2000 to Pillars.
Chief Executive of Dhall and Nash Fine Wines, Puneet Dhall was celebrating the 200th anniversary of the champagne house, Maison Billecart-Salmon at a function in Auckland.
The guests had already tried one of the two bottles of the special limited edition anniversary magnums when a guest suggested the other one was auctioned for Pillars.
“There was spirited bidding for the second bottle” Puneet says “and the rare bottle went for $2000.00.”
The Billecart-Salmon champagne house is seven generations old having started with the marriage of Nicolas Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon in 1818. Puneet also attended the anniversary celebrations in France.
Puneet was mentor to Darryn for several years and still keeps in touch with him. He feels a part of the greater Pillars family and likes to keep close to the organisation by attending events.
“This auction was a joyous occasion and a great way to support Pillars” Puneet said.
