Ways to Support our Mahi

Pillars Ka Pou Whakahou is a charity that relies on the generosity of others to make our mahi happen. Our donors share in the belief that children of people in prison are children of promise and potential. Join us in supporting positive futures for tamariki and whānau of people serving a sentence.

Become a Regular giver

By joining our Pillars Ka Pou Whakahou Village of Support, your gift will see a family and their children receive social work support; through parenting programmes, goal setting or support with housing, income and navigating the justice system. Your gift will also see children paired with an ask-able, reliable mentor who gives them opportunities outside of their horizons.

By giving to Pillars Ka Pou Whakahou, you are allowing our children to be supported in all aspects of life, so they can stride into the future with confidence.

Give Once

Currently, there is no law that protects children of people in prison. While our service is free, the cost of supporting families and children is not.

Donation large or small, will help continue to support one of our most vulnerable populations, who are the invisible victims of crime and often forgotten in the current justice system. Help us support positive futures for the children and families of people in prison.

If you would like to donate directly into our bank account, please email accounts@pillars.org.nz

Fundraise for Pillars

If you would rather give your time, effort, and ideas, we would appreciate any fundraising efforts to help support our mahi with children and families.

We can work with you to develop your fundraising event or initiative. Whether the idea is ready to go or a thought in your mind, we would love to korero and see how we can best support your efforts!

Whether its biking across New Zealand like Kim or walking 157km in three days like Frank, we would love to hear more, please call us on 0508745527 or email reception@pillars.org.nz

Leaving a Lasting Legacy

Leaving a gift in your Will to Pillars Ka Pou Whakahou means you can make a lasting difference to the children and families of people in prison.

Making a gift in your Will ensures your legacy can live on and transform the lives of so many young people in New Zealand who would otherwise not be supported.

It can include money, shares, real estate, or anything else that you would like to pass on when you pass away.

Dedicating a bequest to Pillars Ka Pou Whakahou will ensure positive futures for children of people in prison, making a massive difference in their lives so that they do not become the next generation of people incarcerated.
